Guest Artist: John Lawless

The Georgia Festival Chorus is delighted to announce that percussionist John Lawless will perform at our Joyful & Triumphant Christmas Concerts this season. As a long-time friend of the Chorus, it has been our pleasure to collaborate with John over the years. We are thrilled to have him share his talents with us and our audience!

John is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Percussion Studies at Kennesaw State University where he has taught since 1998. Principal Timpanist of the Atlanta Opera Orchestra since 1979, John held the same position with the Chattanooga Symphony for 21 years. Since 1978, he has performed, toured, and recorded with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra while maintaining a thriving freelance career as a studio and pit percussionist. John is a founding member of the Atlanta Percussion Trio, which performs at hundreds of school concerts a year for thousands of children throughout the Southeastern United States, bringing educational programs to children of all ages. He also serves as principal timpanist of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

Join us this holiday! Georgia Festival Chorus warmly invites you to an enchanting evening of music and celebration at our 2024 Christmas Concerts, featuring our 100-voice chorus, brass quintet, percussion, piano, and organ. Let every note elevate your spirit!
